My name is Vicky Gordon
I am a qualified person centred counsellor based in Bury, Lancashire. Firstly I would like to thank you for looking at my counselling service, which could be your first step towards making positive changes for yourself. I offer a friendly, confidential and safe environment — where your wellbeing is of the utmost importance.
"If you are looking to be understood and listened to in a non-judgemental, genuine and empathic way, then person centred therapy may be the beginning of your journey towards a greater understanding of yourself."
I can honestly say I feel it is an absolute privilege to work with my clients. To be able to help and support people on their own personal journeys and to see how much they can personally achieve is an honour for me. My therapy work is extremely rewarding and I strongly believe in the professional therapeutic relationship between the therapist and the client, being of paramount importance in the success of the process.

I have spent my therapy time working with clients who have experienced a wide range of issues. Whatever your concern, I am here to listen without judgement and to support you at your own pace.
Children, Young People & Families
Outside of my specific counselling roles, I have worked with children and young people with anxiety, attachment disorders, ADHD, ASD and other specialist needs. I have done this for a number of years and this has included working closely with their families and carers.
About my approach
Counselling, which can also be known as talking therapy, gives you the opportunity to talk about any issues in an environment which is solely for you.
In my counselling, I work within a person centred approach, which was developed by Carl Rogers, an American Psychologist. It allows you to explore aspects of your life from the past or present and explore thoughts and feelings. I offer a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and empathic environment.
It gives you the chance to be listened to and, with the right conditions being offered, it allows you to gain a greater understanding of yourself. This in turn provides the platform for personal growth and the tools you need to take control of your life.
